  • Account Data: Email address and name when you create an account. Passwords are stored using Argon2 hashing — we never store plaintext passwords.
  • Content Data: Blog posts, comments, and newsletter subscriptions you voluntarily submit.
  • Usage Data: Pages visited, time spent, and referral sources. Collected via privacy-respecting analytics. No cross-site tracking.
  • Communication Data: Messages sent through our contact form or support channels.

We do not collect: precise geolocation, biometric data, financial information (payments processed by Stripe), or data from third-party social accounts beyond what is necessary for authentication.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and improve our services
  • To send newsletter emails (only if you opted in)
  • To respond to support requests
  • To detect and prevent abuse (rate limiting, spam protection)
  • To comply with legal obligations

We never sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Data Storage and Security

Data is stored on our secure VPS with the following protections:

  • All data in transit encrypted via TLS 1.3
  • Passwords hashed with Argon2 (not reversible)
  • CSRF protection on all form submissions
  • Rate limiting to prevent brute-force attacks
  • Regular security audits and automated monitoring
  • Database access restricted to authenticated admin accounts only

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

  • Google AdSense: We display advertisements through Google AdSense. Google may use cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to our site or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. 6. Cookies

We use the following cookies:

  • Session cookie: Maintains your logged-in state. Deleted when you close your browser or log out.
  • CSRF token: Prevents cross-site request forgery attacks. Essential for security.
  • Google AdSense cookies: Google AdSense uses cookies to serve personalized and non-personalized ads. These include DoubleClick (IDE, DSID) and Google Analytics cookies when served through AdSense. You can control ad personalization at adssettings.google.com or opt out via NAI Opt-Out.

Essential cookies (session, CSRF) are necessary for site function and cannot be disabled. Advertising cookies can be controlled through your browser settings or the Google Ads Settings page linked above.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Opt out of newsletter communications at any time (unsubscribe link in every email)
  • Export your data in a machine-readable format
  • CCPA: The right to know what personal information is collected, the right to request deletion, the right to opt-out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell your data), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights.
  • GDPR: The right to data portability, the right to object to processing, and the right to restrict processing. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

8. Data Retention

  • Account data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion request.
  • Newsletter subscriptions: Retained until you unsubscribe.
  • Security logs: IP-based rate limiting data retained for 30 days, then automatically purged.
  • Comments: Retained with the associated blog post. Deleted on request.

9. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to individuals under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 16, we will delete it promptly.

10. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, to protect your data in accordance with GDPR requirements.

11. California Residents (CCPA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, California residents have additional rights:
